EFT Tapping and trauma-informed goal setting

What’s different about the way we use EFT Tapping?

Our future-focused approach to clinical EFT is trauma-informed, innovative and very different to talk therapy.

We put a strong emphasis on working very slowly, gently and safely with your mind and body.

What does happen in our sessions:

  • We meet you where you’re at mentally and emotionally.

  • We set realistic goals based on how you want to think, feel & behave differently.

    • We help you understand what is happening in your mind & body.

    • We teach you how to help yourself when feeling triggered.

    • We focus on recent & future events rather than going into the past.

    • We focus on making your EFT sessions feel as comfortable and safe as possible. People heal when their body feels safe.

What does not happen in our sessions:

  • You don’t have to talk about your trauma to start feeling better (yes, really).

  • We will never push you to reveal your history or rehash stories & events from your past.

    • We do not give advice, coach you or reframe anything for you because we believe your answers are inside of you and our job is to help connect you with yourself.

    • Clinical EFT done the slow safe & gentle way is less likely to lead to re-traumatisation.

“In my sessions with Bruno, I feel seen and heard, and even more importantly, I feel safe. There are many EFT practitioners around the world today but not all are able to effectively use this tool while also creating and maintaining a safe space…”

With our trauma-informed approach to EFT Tapping you can expect that:

Your progress is a priority

as we check-in on your goal and what has changed.

Your safety and comfort always come first

as we use a variety of techniques to pace your session.

You will feel empowered

to help yourself and to understand how your own mind-body system works.

We use a gentle, future-focused approach

to help prevent overwhelm in your sessions.

We believe everyone deserves to achieve their full potential, however that looks for them.

We want you to see and feel your progress.

When you work with one of our practitioners, they will use goal setting to help you recognise and celebrate your wins.

Many people report feeling frustrated that in traditional therapy there is often no goal setting and no acknowledgement if (despite numerous sessions) not much is changing for them…

  • At Clinical EFT Connect, we prioritise your progress by checking in on your goal at the start of each EFT session. This helps you to notice what has changed about how you think, feel and behave.

Your safety and comfort always come first.

Your trauma-informed practitioner has been extensively trained in how to adjust their approach according to how you are feeling during a session.

Just let them know what you are noticing throughout the session, so they know what techniques to use. And don't worry, they will explain everything to you, and repeat it as often as required.

  • We know that EFT is a different way of working with humans and problems, and processing emotions and we are here to make things as easeful, as possible.

Our practitioners also provide longer sessions ranging from 60-90 minutes to ensure that you finish your sessions feeling calm before you step back into your day.

Our safe, and gentle approach gets real results that you can feel in your body, faster!

We empower you with knowledge to understand why you feel the way you do—this is a game changer.

We focus a lot on providing education that is not readily available anywhere else.

We know that when people understand what they are doing and why, it helps them to commit to the sessions when it feels challenging at times. We believe it is important for people to learn how EFT works in the brain and body and why we do things the way we do in our sessions.

You will learn life-long, valuable information and skills such as:

    • How your mind, body and nervous system work and what you can do to help them work better together.

    • How to better connect to your body, which will help you better connect with others.

    • How trapped emotions and survival stress (trauma) shows up in the body and how EFT can help the body to release this slowly, safely, and gently.

    • How to use EFT yourself so that you feel empowered to help yourself whenever you need to.

We use a Future-Focused approach to clinical EFT which means you’re less likely to feel overwhelmed.

All practitioners are well trained in working with trauma, and our trauma-informed approach is focused on recent and future events.

They will use an easy to understand approach which our founder, Jules, crafted after decades of working with highly-traumatised clients.

It’s called the banana bread analogy and is a way to approach big challenges in slow and gentle ways.

See an example below!

The Banana Bread Analogy:

We use banana bread as a simple metaphor to explain how we approach challenges with EFT in a gentle, trauma-informed way.

Let’s use anxiety in order to explain. Use the arrow below to follow along and see how it works.
